Marco Solorio has the gift of being both creative AND technical. He deftly illustrates the pros and cons of anything he can get his hands on and we the consumer are the beneficiary of his efforts. This book is a perfect guide for the ever growing camera market and the dearth of choices that can seem so daunting. Even if you never plan on buying either of these cameras, the knowledge you’ll gain from Marco’s insights will serve you well with any camera system.

Marco Solorio has provided an amazingly detailed and thorough comparison and analysis of these two new cameras that are going to push the industry into a new set of standards and customer expectations. Even though I got to see both of these cameras in person at NAB this year, Marco has given all the real-world, non-marketing hype comparisons that include tech specs, overall production costs, features and image quality. This is a must-read for anyone who’s considering either of these two cameras – or interested in where camera technology is heading into the future!

Steffan Schulz
For anyone contemplating the purchase of either the URSA or CION, this book addressees all of the questions that a filmmaker needs to know. It is a comprehensive look at their respective feature sets and offers a great side-by-side comparison. There’s enough technical information for the über-geek, yet written in a way that is manageable for those like me who have a basic technical understanding. In my case, I was thinking about an entirely different camera and this book also addresses the differences between those other leading models.

Donald Bérubé
I am thoroughly impressed with the amount of information provided in this book. Many readers will appreciate what both camera systems feature, and will draw their own conclusions from Marco Solorio’s hands-on experience. Since each camera has its own unique strengths, each person’s shooting needs and style will dictate which camera to use. Since Marco dives so deeply into all aspects of each camera, readers will benefit from using this book as a “must carry” companion to the OEM instruction manual of either camera.

In reference to Marco Solorio’s first Cinema Camera comparison video: Marco, you’ve done more than anyone to put that to bed. Excellent work.

I was really amazed with Marco’s camera tests of the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. Marco’s test was significant because it showed what the Cinema Camera could do from a creative point of view, and in the end, that’s what matters. Marco has shown what kinds of images you can get, and I think in the end that’s what that matters the most. It’s very exciting. I’m not sure about everyone else, but I was really surprised watching Marco’s comparison video. We learned a lot from it as well! Full story here.
